Poland’s music industry gathered for the Fryderyki 2026 ceremony, an evening that belonged above all to singer Kasia Lins, who took home multiple awards including Album of the Year in the Alternative Pop category for Obywatelka K.L. and Best Music Video.
The ceremony was co-hosted by Gabi Drzewiecka and musician Krzysztof Zalewski, who joked that he was standing in for a previous host, that the budget had apparently collapsed, and that the event had been moved from March to May. Zalewski also sparked brief political exchanges from the stage, name-dropping Jarosław Kaczyński and Zbigniew Ziobro before Drzewiecka steered the conversation back to music.
In the Pop category, Album of the Year went to Zalia for Serce. Accepting the award, she said the record was above all about other people and dedicated it to the men in her life without whom, she said, the album would not exist. The Pop Single of the Year was awarded to Kuban and Zalia for “Kyoto”; Kuban’s mother collected the award on his behalf, noting that the following day was Mother’s Day.

Rock band Coma made a striking return to the stage, opening the second half of the ceremony with a performance that included songs “Tonacja”, “Spadam”, and “Transfuzja”. The band also won Best Metal Album, beating acts including Behemoth, Turbo, Corruption, and Hostia. Vocalist Piotr Rogucki joked that the band had long dreamed of joining Poland’s metal acts, and humorously noted that at their age, metalheads should get regular health checks.
Rapper Pezet won Album of the Year in the Hip-Hop category for Muzyka popularna, dedicating the award to his mother, who had died the previous year. The Hip-Hop Single of the Year went to O.S.T.R. and Wojtek Kukulski for “Sam”.
The evening included tributes to the late Stanisław Soyka, who was posthumously honoured with a Golden Fryderyk. Journalist Piotr Metz delivered the tribute, describing Soyka as a great artist whether performing at the Jarocin festival or for the Pope in the Vatican. Singer Anna Maria Jopek then performed “Do widzenia mówiliśmy” in his memory.
Rock legends Lady Pank also received a Golden Fryderyk, presented by Culture Minister Marta Cienkowska, who recalled taping their songs onto cassettes. Guitarist Jan Borysewicz thanked Andrzej Mogielnicki, whom he described as the father of the band, marking 45 years since the group’s formation.
