A military helicopter, a Mi-2 model, was forced to make an emergency landing in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region of Poland on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred around 9 PM near Złotniki Kujawskie in the Inowrocław County, during a routine night training exercise using night vision equipment.
Captain Iwona Kloskowska, the press officer for the 1st Brigade of Army Aviation, confirmed that the helicopter was piloted by two individuals, who fortunately emerged unscathed. She emphasized that the landing site was approximately 200 meters from a paved road and there were no buildings in the surrounding area.
The helicopter was performing a routine exercise when the crew reportedly felt a “jolt” leading to the decision to conduct a precautionary landing on a field. Remarkably, the aircraft sustained only minor damage with its front landing gear slightly affected.

The incident prompted a response from the Military Police and a prosecutor, who secured the scene and initiated an investigation. A specialized body, the Commission for the Investigation of National Aircraft Accidents, has been appointed to determine the cause of the incident. This commission, under the Ministry of National Defence, regularly investigates accidents and serious incidents involving state aircraft, including those of the Armed Forces, Police, Border Guard, and State Fire Service.
Furthermore, all standard precautions were taken, including on-site fire services and logistics support, as Captain Kloskowska highlighted. These measures are part of routine protocols accompanying such training exercises.
The latest updates on the situation have also drawn attention from the Ministry of National Defence, which is conducting its own review into the emergency landing event.
