National Geographic Poland has launched voting for its Cuda Polski (Wonders of Poland) 2026 competition, which each year highlights lesser-known tourist attractions that deserve wider national attention. The poll runs until 13 October, with the full official list of 16 winners to be announced on 14 October. The winning selections will then be featured in the December edition of National Geographic Traveler magazine.

Three unique sites from each of Poland’s 16 regions are nominated, and readers of national-geographic.pl decide the winner for each region through an online vote. The first nominations announced come from two regions: Lower Silesia (Dolnośląskie) and Kujawy-Pomerania (Kujawsko-Pomorskie).

Among the Lower Silesian nominees is the Mine at Szklary, a former nickel-mining site also associated with minerals such as chrysoprase and opal. Visitors can walk underground routes, learn about the history of mining, and see unique rock formations. Also nominated from the region is the Arboretum at Wojsławice, described as one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Poland, home to thousands of species of trees, shrubs and perennials from around the world, with rhododendrons, azaleas and daylilies among its highlights. The third Lower Silesian candidate is the Trzebnickie Hills, a scenic area near Wrocław suited to walking and cycling, where visitors can also discover historic monuments of the region.

From Kujawy-Pomerania, the House of Toruń Legends (Dom Legend Toruńskich) is nominated — an interactive exhibition in one of Poland’s oldest cities that blends local stories, traditions and historical figures, and is particularly popular with families. Also in the running is the saline graduation towers in Ciechocinek, described as the largest such complex in Europe. These monumental wooden structures create a microclimate beneficial to health and have been drawing visitors since the 19th century. The final nominee from the region is the Mouse Tower (Mysia Wieża) in Kruszwica, a Gothic tower on the shores of Lake Gopło, linked to the legend of King Popiel and situated within the Nadgoplański Park Tysiąclecia.

Voting is open to readers online, and each of Poland’s 16 regions will ultimately gain one newly chosen wonder from the competition.
