On Tuesday, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz visited the Central Air Force Training Range in Ustka to participate in the large-scale military exercise “Jesienny Ogień-25.” This event marks a significant milestone as it features the first operational test of Poland’s advanced Wisła air defence system integrated with the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS).

During the exercises, which are part of the broader “Żelazny Obrońca” drills, the Polish military showcased its capabilities by engaging in combat firing for the first time using the Wisła system, along with new rocket launchers Homar A and Homar K. This exercise is considered Poland’s largest military drill of the year, involving about 30,000 soldiers, alongside forces from the United States, Sweden, and Norway.

Scheduled events for the day included a briefing with the Air Force’s leadership at 13:30, followed by statements from Tusk and Kosiniak-Kamysz. The public demonstration of “fire activity” was planned for 14:50, following their announcements.

The defence minister has assured that the exercises are proceeding according to plan, with the Wisła system expected to complete certification and achieve full operational readiness by the end of the year. He emphasized that these drills test the Polish Armed Forces’ readiness and interoperability across diverse combat environments, including land, sea, air, and cyber domains.

As these exercises unfold, they demonstrate Poland’s commitment to enhancing its defence capabilities through modern technology and multinational cooperation, underscoring a strategic shift in ensuring national and regional security.
