Authorities in Igoumenitsa, a port city in Greece, have detained two individuals following an incident that delayed the departure of the passenger and vehicle ferry “Alkinoos“. The ferry, carrying 295 passengers, was scheduled for a routine journey when it encountered an unexpected hold-up on the evening of Wednesday, 30th April 2025.

The hindrance began when a 37-year-old Greek man, identified as the owner and co-driver of a large truck with a refrigerated trailer, refused to vacate the ferry despite lacking the necessary tickets.
