A complicated rescue operation was successfully conducted in Lavrio, Greece, where a 30-year-old cave explorer fell into a 55-metre ravine. Firefighters from the EMAK rescue team were able to communicate with the injured man from the onset of the operation, and although he was in pain, he could still move his arms and legs.

The incident occurred during the explorer’s attempt to reach an area of interest to caving enthusiasts. It was estimated that a failure in his descending equipment caused the man to fall sharply onto the rocky floor below, leaving him injured.
