Language Holiday

How does a language holiday work?

Language Holiday

Before you arrive

Ahead of your trip, you’ll take a quick placement test so we can find the right group for you. One week before the holiday starts, there’s an online meeting on Google Meet where you’ll meet your fellow participants and get to know each other a little before you arrive in Croatia.

Language Holiday

Your first day

On Monday, we all gather about 15 minutes before the first class for a relaxed welcome coffee. We’ll meet in the full group, then split into our language-level groups. Lessons run each day from 9:00 to 12:30 (with breaks), and every session starts with a brief overview of the day’s goals and ends with a quick recap.

Language Holiday

Apply what you’ve learned

After class, there’s a 45-minute homework session where your teacher will be on hand to answer any questions. You’ll work on exercises tailored to the holiday experience, helping you reinforce new vocabulary and grammar so you can use them right away when you’re out exploring or chatting with locals.

Language Holiday

Activities & downtime

To make the most of your stay in Croatia, we organise three optional activities each week – usually a city tour on Monday, a museum visit on Wednesday, and a coffee & cake get-together on Thursday. These usually start mid-afternoon, giving you time to relax or grab lunch beforehand. Evenings are free, but many participants meet up for drinks or dinner; sometimes your teacher might join in too!

Language Holiday

Community & collaboration

Throughout the week, you’ll team up with different classmates for our fun treasure hunt, solving riddles around town. On Friday, you’ll share your discoveries with the whole group, and the winning team gets a small prize! We’ll also set up a WhatsApp group to keep everyone connected during the holiday and beyond. By the end of the week, you’ll have not only improved your language skills but also formed new friendships and unforgettable memories in Croatia.

Frequently asked questions

Who are language holidays for?

Language holidays are great for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in Croatian while exploring the country. They’re ideal for beginners looking for an intensive start, intermediate learners who want to build confidence, and even advanced speakers who want structured practice in a real-world setting.

What level of Croatian do I need?

Our language holidays cater to all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners. Before arrival, you’ll take a placement test so we can assign you to a group that matches your skill level.

How much Croatian will I learn?

Our language holidays are designed to give you a big boost in a short time. With 25 hours of lessons, plus optional practice during cultural activities and social time, you’ll see a noticeable improvement in your speaking and comprehension skills by the end of the week.

What happens outside of class?

Beyond lessons, we organise optional activities like city tours, cultural visits, and group meetups. You’ll also have free time to explore, practice your Croatian with locals, or relax with your fellow learners.

Will I have homework?

Yes, but it’s light and designed to reinforce what you’ve learned in class. You’ll have daily exercises that help solidify your new vocabulary and grammar in a fun and practical way.

Where do the language holidays take place?

Our language holidays are held in two fantastic locations: Zadar and Zagreb. Zadar offers a beautiful coastal experience, while Zagreb provides a lively city atmosphere. Both locations have been carefully chosen for their cultural richness and relaxed learning environment.

Do I need to arrange my own accommodation?

Yes, participants book their own accommodation, giving you the flexibility to choose what suits your budget and preferences. We’re happy to provide recommendations for hotels, apartments, and hostels near our course locations.

How do I sign up?

It’s easy to sign up—just fill out the contact form, and our learning coordinator will get in touch to answer any questions and help with the registration process. Spaces are limited, so we recommend booking early.
