The operation unfolded under challenging weather conditions, with strong north-westerly winds reaching up to 4 on the Beaufort scale, complicating the rescue effort. Despite these difficulties, the migrants were safely transported to the port of Agia Galini in the Rethymno region.

Authorities confirmed that the following morning, the identification process for the rescued individuals began. These necessary procedures aim to facilitate their onward transfer to a reception centre in Attica, where they will be accommodated for initial processing.
