In a message delivered before the funeral, Kougias’s son, Christos, emphasized the family’s wish for donations to be made to Elpida – Association of Friends of Children with Cancer instead of sending wreaths. “Your financial contributions to this cause will help more people,” he wrote, urging the public to respect the family’s request.
