Snowfall is especially anticipated in the mountainous areas of northern mainland Greece, Evia, and Crete. The Greek Meteorological Service (EMY) has forecasted cloudy weather with occasional rain across eastern mainland regions and the Aegean Sea, whilst largely clear skies are expected elsewhere.

Morning hours may see reduced visibility in northern mainland territories. Wind patterns are varied, with variable breezes in the west reaching up to 5 on the Beaufort scale and northeasterly gusts in the east reaching up to 7 Beaufort, with the Aegean witnessing wind strengths locally as high as 8 Beaufort during early hours.

The temperature, while remaining steady without significant fluctuation, is maintaining levels below seasonal averages. Northern regions may see maximum temperatures of around 9 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, temperatures in eastern mainland areas and much of the Aegean are expected to range between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius, peaking at 14 degrees in southern Crete and the Dodecanese.

Inland areas will experience freezing conditions during early morning and late evening, with frost expected to form. Cities such as Athens may experience brief increased clouds and light rain, with possible light snow in the Parnitha mountain. Light, variable winds are expected around 4 to 5 Beaufort, decreasing gradually, while temperatures might range from 3 to 10 degrees Celsius.

Thessaloniki will see intermittent cloud cover under variable winds of 3 to 4 Beaufort, with temperatures between 1 and 9 degrees Celsius.

Moving towards Macedonia and Thrace, brief cloudy spells with increased intensity mainly in central Macedonia are predicted, accompanied by variable winds ranging from 3 to 6 Beaufort.

The western coasts encompassing the Ionian Islands, Epirus, and Western Peloponnese are expected to enjoy mostly clear skies, with temperatures between 2 and 13 degrees Celsius, though areas in Epirus’ interior may dip to minus 3 degrees.

In the Greek islands, particularly the Cyclades and Crete, residents can expect cloud cover with brief showers in Crete’s highlands, where light snow may occur. Northerly winds reaching up to 8 Beaufort before easing are forecasted in these areas.
