A liver transplant conducted at the Hippocrates Hospital in Thessaloniki has been deemed a success, providing a ray of hope for a 19-year-old recipient suffering from chronic liver disease. The transplant operation, which spanned several hours, was performed by the hospital’s esteemed transplant team and concluded successfully by 8:30 PM on Tuesday.

The liver was donated by the family of a 12-year-old boy who tragically lost his life in an incident at the River Aracthos. In a gesture of profound generosity amidst their grief, the boy’s parents opted to donate his organs to save others in need.
