Croatian interior designer Barbara Boban has won second place in the Residential Space category at a prestigious international design competition held in Japan, with the awards ceremony taking place in Tokyo.

Her winning project, titled Beyond Straight Lines, was created for a Croatian family of three. The design combines rounded forms, earthy tones, and a mix of materials including wood, stone, ceramics, microcement, mirrors, and wallpaper. Abstract artworks were also incorporated into the interior.

Among the practical features of the project are a kitchen island with an induction hob and retractable ventilation, as well as a dedicated space for growing rosemary and basil. According to the announcement, particular attention was paid to the everyday habits of the people living in the home.
