Croatia’s robotics teams have achieved remarkable success at the prestigious RoboCup 2025, held from 17th to 21st July in Salvador, Brazil. Competing against over 1,500 participants from more than 35 countries, Croatian innovators demonstrated exceptional skill, securing three gold medals, one bronze, and a special award for exemplary teamwork.

RoboCup, established in 1996, is renowned as the world’s foremost competition for advances in autonomous robotics and artificial intelligence. Initially focused on robotic football, the tournament now encompasses a diverse range of challenges, including rescue missions, household robots, and logistics.

In the Rescue Maze category, Croatian team MiNotaur KarlovaCRO clinched the top position. Team members Maksim Staković Šprajc and Nikola Baniček, guided by mentor Željko Stanković Šprajc, excelled in navigating the complex rescue scenarios that test robotics’ capabilities in real-world applications.

Another astounding victory was achieved by ZG 24 Robotics in the Soccer Open category. The team, comprising Borut Patčev, Ivan Perko, Ivan Matošević, and Dino Furjan under the mentorship of Ivica Kolarić, not only won the overall competition but also led in the superteam category, earning the Exemplary Team Award for outstanding team spirit and cooperation.

Adding to Croatia’s accolades, the Školska knjiga CRO Team, consisting of pupils Marin Rođak and Luka Kolarić with mentor Ivan Kolarić, secured third place in the superteam section of the Rescue Line discipline. This category tests robots on their ability to follow lines and tackle obstacles during rescue missions.

The Croatian teams’ prominent performances did not go unnoticed, garnering praise from both experts and peers at the event. Other notable participants included the Gebrüder Weiss CRO Team in the Rescue Maze and the ETC autoPrikratki team in Soccer Lightweight, both representing Croatia with commendable involvement.

The Croatian Robotics Association expressed gratitude to the support network that contributed to these achievements. They highlighted the invaluable backing from the Croatian Community of Technical Culture and the Ministry of Science, Education, and Youth, which underlines the significance of investing in technical education and innovation.

This continuous cycle of learning and mentoring in Croatia not only reflects the nation’s prowess in robotics but also sets a strong foundation for future technological advancements. As the RoboCup concludes, Croatia stands proud among the global leaders in robotics and artificial intelligence.
