In a decisive operation, Greek police have successfully dismantled a drug trafficking gang operating on the island of Mykonos. Authorities from the Mykonos Security and Foreigners Department arrested three individuals involved in a criminal organisation accused of distributing vast quantities of illicit substances.

The key operation took place on Saturday afternoon and led to the arrest of three suspects, one of whom attempted to escape but was subdued after a brief resistance. A fourth suspect remains at large, with investigations continuing to locate and apprehend him.

According to police reports, the gang had been trafficking substances such as cocaine, pink cocaine, cannabis, and other narcotic tablets across Mykonos since at least May. The group used three rented properties to store drugs before distributing them island-wide using vehicles specially designated for their operations.

A drug-sniffing dog assisted in the operation, leading to the confiscation of significant drug quantities: 932.22 grams of cocaine, 7 grams of pink cocaine, 899 grams of cannabis, 1.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and 93 narcotic tablets. Additionally, authorities seized over €5,000 in cash, a revolver with ammunition, a knife, a vehicle, a motorcycle, precision scales, and mobile phones.

The estimated illegal profit from these activities is believed to exceed €100,000. All confiscated substances will undergo laboratory testing, and the seized cash has been temporarily kept at the local Treasury Office. The detained individuals have been presented to the relevant prosecutor’s office.

As the police effort to dismantle this network and apprehend the remaining fugitive continues, local residents and tourists are reassured of ongoing vigilance against such criminal activities on the island.
