The Michelin Guide has announced its latest star awards for Greece, covering Athens, Santorini, and Thessaloniki for the first time together. Greece now holds a total of 21 Michelin stars across the two regions already included in the guide.
The biggest surprise of the announcement was the award of two Michelin stars directly to Lycabettus Restaurant, located within Andronis Luxury Suites on Santorini, making it the only two-star restaurant in Greece. The restaurant, which overlooks the Caldera, has Executive Chef Christos Karagiannis and Petros Brandenburg in the kitchen. Meanwhile, Delta restaurant in Athens, with Executive Chef Giorgos Papazacharias, dropped from two stars to one.
Several restaurants received their first Michelin star in this announcement. In Athens, Seeds (Chef Dimos Samourakis), Aleria (Chef Gikas Xenakis), Sense (Chef Alexandros Charalampopulos), and Simul (Chef Nikos Thomas) all earned one star. In Santorini, Selene restaurant at the Katikies Garden hotel in Fira, with Executive Chef Ektoras Botrinis and Chef de Cuisine Thomas Bosbos, also received its first star.

The Katikies and Andronis hotel groups both had strong showings. Botrini’s Santorini, inside the Katikies Santorini hotel in Oia, with Chef de Cuisine Giorgos Skopelitis, earned one star. The Andronis group also saw its Lauda restaurant, inside Andronis Boutique Hotel — with chef Emmanuel Renaut and Executive Chef Orestis Sotiriou — awarded one star.
Athens now counts 16 one-star restaurants in total, including established names such as CTC, Spondi, Tudor Hall, Hytra, Pelagos, Hervé, Patio, Soil, Makris Athens by Domes, and The Zillers, among others. The guide also awarded Bib Gourmand distinctions — recognising good quality at a reasonable price — to Akra, Pharaoh, Upon, Nolan, and Zohos in Athens, and to Menu, Ta Tria Gourounakia, Manitari, Deka Trapezia, and Syntrofia in Thessaloniki.
The reason no announcement was made during 2025 was that Michelin’s inspectors needed time to cover the two additional regions of Santorini and Thessaloniki, so all stars were held back and revealed together.
