Learning numbers is one of the first steps when picking up a new language. In Greek, they’re essential for talking about time, dates, prices, and more. Although Greek numbers are generally straightforward, you’ll notice differences in word forms, especially when numbers combine with nouns. Note: Some numbers have alternative forms. For example, 7 can be επτά or εφτά, 8 can be οχτώ or οκτώ, and 9 can be εννέα or εννιά. This applies to compound numbers as well (e.g., 17: δεκαεπτά/δεκαεφτά, etc.).
