The concert featured stirring performances from several renowned Greek artists, including Phoebus Delivorias, Socrates Malamas, Thanasis Papakonstantinou, and Tania Tsanaklidou. These performances amplified the call for justice for the 57 victims of the accident, a plea still resonant as no legal resolutions have been reached over 19 months later.

Among the highlights, Phoebus Delivorias delivered a powerful song, “Tonight I Am Close to You“, specially written the night before the concert. His moving lyrics reflected the deep desire for accountability and comfort for the bereaved families. Delivorias’s message resonated with many in the audience, stating, “We are all here because since February 2023, the need for justice has flowed from our eyes.”

The event opened with performances from Ludovikos of Anogeia and the group Kinoi Thnitoi, whose socially conscious lyrics emphasised solidarity and a commitment to safe transport. Each artist expressed a heartfelt tribute to the deceased, voicing determination that the memory of the tragedy remains alive until justice prevails.

Maria Karystianou, president of “Tempi 2023” and mother to one of the victims, addressed the concert, expressing gratitude to those who attended and contributed. “Never again,” she declared, insisting on the community’s resolve to not forget the tragedy and to seek justice unwaveringly. Her passionate speech underscored the enduring grief and communal solidarity.

The emotional concert concluded with Thanasis Papakonstantinou honouring the lost lives, expressing a longing for them to be with their loved ones rather than being memorialised in song. This sentiment captured the shared hope among attendees for genuine peace and closure.

The concert, broadcast to over 60 municipalities across Greece, stood as a testament to the national desire for justice and remembrance. The event not only united those physically present in Athens but also countless others who joined virtually to show resilience and solidarity with the victims’ families.
